Rising Grade 7 Course Request Instructions
Mount Vernon is proud to offer a variety of learning experiences and opportunities for students to follow their curiosities and passions, and World Language is one area where students are able to select their path. Beginning in Grade 7, students may choose to study French, Latin, or Spanish as one of their core academic classes. If students take the same language at Mount Vernon in both grades 7 and 8 and are successful, they may be eligible to receive upper School credit for a level 1 course of the same language on their transcript. Read more about our World Language program and graduation requirements here.
With this in mind, we are asking students to select the language that they would like to pursue for the 2019-2020 school year. Kasi Turner, our registrar, will open the course request process in PowerSchool on Monday, April 15, 2019 through Wednesday, April 17, 2019. We make every effort to place students in the courses they desire, however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate every request. Students will receive confirmation of course placement prior to the start of the new school year.
By April 17, 2019, please review and follow the instructions below to request a world language course for the 2019-2020 school year.
