A crossroads of civilizations, cultures, and religions, the Holy Land offers our students a once in a lifetime experience in one of the most historically significant parts of the world. We will climb Mount Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal, take a boat tour on the Sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on water, float in the Dead Sea, stroll through the Garden of Gethsemane, visit the Western “wailing” wall in Jerusalem, visit Israel’s Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem, and explore the modern city of Tel Aviv just to name a few things!
In a world that is teeming with different religions, sects, and peoples, Israel offers our students a glimpse at how these different peoples and cultures are able to coexist and thrive together, despite historical or doctrinal differences. This trip will not only open the eyes of our students, it will give them an appreciation for diversity and nuance that moves beyond the classroom; they will experience and marvel at the wonders that centuries of peoples before have, and gain a better appreciation for religious and cultural identity. This trip is a fantastic opportunity for our students to empathize with a number of different cultures, as they strive to become better equipped as globally competitive citizen leaders. Truly a trip of a lifetime!
