WEEK OF DECEMBER 9
Can you believe we are only two short weeks away from the holiday break?
This week we are holding small-group meetings with the Class of 2022. During our time together, students will complete their YouScience aptitude test. YouScience is an online career and personal planning discovery tool that enables students to identify their potential aptitudes and careers. The tool engages students in a series of online exercises to help them identify their natural abilities, refine their specific areas of interest, and explore career opportunities that are aligned with their strengths.
We are excited to report that over 100% of the Class of 2020 has submitted an application to at least one college. As a class, they have submitted over 375 applications to 37 states and 2 countries! We are proud to say that 9% of the grade enrolled at their first-choice school, too! Please be sure to follow us via Twitter at #mvpins as we continue to celebrate seniors’ application submissions.
SENIOR & JUNIOR PARENTS
As application decisions start to roll in, we understand that many seniors (and juniors) are eager to utilize their Golden Ticket privilege to visit colleges. As a reminder, students may only use two Golden Tickets a year to visit colleges. Golden Tickets are located in the College Counseling office and must be turned in three days before the scheduled visit. A teacher’s signature is required for all the classes your student will miss and must be signed by you and your student’s college counselor.
The CEFGA CareerExpo links students directly to professionals in the areas of construction, utility contracting, highway contracting, electrical contracting, mechanical contracting, energy, mining and more. The CareerExpo features hands-on displays that allow students to engage with industry leaders, equipment and materials and tap into their unique skills and interests.
The 2020 CEFGA Career Expo and SkillsUSA State Championships will be held Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta. Learn more here.
