All Mount Vernon learners benefit from the mentoring and counseling of a faculty advisor, and advisory groups draw from the strong emphasis placed on relationships at the School. Typically about ten learners comprise an advisory group, and the advisor provides the first layer of academic advisement to the learners in the group.
The School takes a networked and multi-layered approach to advising learners. In addition to the advisory groups, each grade level is also supervised and cared for by a Head of Grade. As one more layer of advisement, College Counseling provides exceptional guidance to all four grade-level classes, as well.
