Our classroom centers (including math & manipulatives, dramatic play, blocks, art, sensory, and science) intentionally challenge students as they accomplish learning goals through play. We know that learning does not only happen within the walls of a classroom, so we have designed other opportunities for the same types of learning to occur outside of the classroom walls. We use every space possible to create experiences for children to learn, grow, and explore.
On our natural playground, affectionately named the Frontier, students create, build, and deconstruct in forts, sandpits, stages, slides, and much more. Drawing on the connection between brain development and muscle development, this space challenges young children’s minds and bodies. Additionally, our STEAM-inspired outdoor classroom space, iExplore, allows children to garden, work with wood, imagine, investigate, and discover.
