Trip Description and Purpose: Ciao Benvenuti in Italia! Students traveling to Rome and Florence, Italy will be immersed in the unique art, architecture, history, and cuisine that only a country with the rich history of Italy can offer. Throughout the week, students will marvel at the grandeur of the Colosseum, view some of the most breathtaking art in the world at The Uffizi and The Accademia museums, tour the ancient ruins of Ostia Antica, learn how to cook Italian food by cooking their own dinner, and experience the life changing Vatican. Students will experience the "real Italy" as they take part in a walking night tour of Rome's famous monuments, including the Pantheon and many others. They will be immersed in the culture and live as locals as they ride public transportation and walk through Rome and Florence. Plus they’ll ride through the Tuscan countryside, taking in the region's breathtaking landscape. This journey is truly about all things Italia! History, religion, local foods and customs, and world renowned art. Our hope is that this journey will allow students to experience all that a different culture has to offer and develop an appreciation for the country's long history.
